Inna Faliks’ Polonaise-Fantaisie: The Story of a Pianist

Piano and Spoken Word

“Poignant, humorous, and perceptive to anyone who has ever pursued music, the spoken words allow you to get to know Faliks far beyond other pianists you may listen to.” – American Record Guide

Inna Faliks’ Polonaise-Fantaisie: The Story of a Pianist is the hybrid of a piano recital and an autobiographical monologue, and Inna considers it the most personal project she has ever done. It’s a journey that chronicles Inna’s life path: her family’s immigration from Odessa to America, her seminal early influences and her evolution as an artist. It’s also her love story, as she is reunited as an adult with a childhood friend who is now her husband. Music and words combine to spin a powerful and moving tale.

The format, play-read-play-read, echoes the format of her Music/Words programs, where the poems and the music create an arc that is emotionally resonant.

Inna is a Ukrainian-born American with a glowing international reputation – she has been praised as having a “signature blend of lithe grace and raw power” by Lucid Culture.
