Moon River & Me

The Centennial Celebration of Henry Mancini, Starring Monica Mancini

Monica Mancini is…the glamourous vocal equivalent to diamonds flashing.
– The New York Times

Produced by eight-time Grammy winner, 2018 Emmy nominee, and Latin Grammy “Producer of the Year,” Gregg Field, we honor the mastery of Henry Mancini with a tribute to his film scores and beloved standards as 2024 marks the centennial of this musical giant’s birth. It’s a true family affair — starring his daughter and double-Grammy nominee, Monica Mancini, and son-in-law, Gregg Field, on drums. Accompanied by full orchestra, we celebrate Henry Mancini, the extraordinary man who was nominated for an astounding 18 Academy Awards and 72 Grammys (winning a record-setting 20 Grammys), in a special evening featuring his songs ranging from The Pink Panther Theme to Moon River, as well as favorites such It Had Better Be Tonight, Charade, and The Shadow of your Smile. While the show can be done without projections, if projections are available, four songs have accompanying video montage presentations that feature well-known segments from their corresponding films. These songs include Moon River, Wine & Roses, Music On The Way, and The Pink Panther.

This tour will be given even more visibility in 2024 as CBS will be releasing a series of documentary shows featuring the behind-the-scenes of several new recordings of many of Mancini’s legendary songs, featuring John Williams and Herbie Hancock on keyboards, Arturo Sandoval on trumpet, and Quincy Jones conducting the 18 piece band.
